FEAG will be arranging a series of field-walking sessions at various locations in the Fen Edge area.
The purpose of field-walking is to collect a sample of the surface finds in a field, recording the rough position of such finds. From this we can determine a relative distribution of what type of finds are found in the various parts of the field and these may give clues to the rough location of settlement sites which cannot be detected by other means.
Our first session took on 27th November when ten FEAG members met to begin to investigate a field close to the site of our Twenty Pence Project. This was followed by a further visit on 11th December when three of us completed coverage of the field
